I must be going now but I wish it wasn't so, so I'll try to take my time yes I'll try to take it slow. And if our paths should cross on some busy city road, then I'll greet you with a smile remembering moments that we stole. Oh I must be going now but I wish that I could stay, and I know the road looks daunting but I know no other way. So I head out to the ocean from the safety of the bay and I'll do my best to make it home if my ship should go astray. Well I packed my bags and I tied my shoes and I wrapped my socks up all in sets of twos. My cheeks are pink and my clothes are used, but I know somehow I'll find a way to make it through. Oh I wish I had more time but I must be going now, and I'd like to stay with you but I don't think I'm allowed, and I'd like to take you with me but I don't think I'd know how so for now I'll say farewell and hope that I see you around. And I keep a bag in the back of my car, cause I like the feeling that I could break out of this jar. My friends are close even when they're far, even if they're lost to me or drawn on me like scars. And I know I must go on from here but where I'm going ain't quite clear. I'll do my best to face my fears and keep you close throughout the years. Oh I must be going now, but I won't say it's the end, cause I'd drag myself right back to you if you needed me again. I try to be a stoic but I'd be a fool to pretend that it doesn't pain me every time I have to say farewell to friends.
